Director of Operations- Heavy Civil ConstructionThe OpportunityThe Director of Operations will work closely with the President and project leadership to oversee J. Banicki's active project portfolio and support the company's continued growth throughout Arizona.This person will:Provide operational leadership and oversight across multiple construction projectsWork directly with Project Managers and Superintendents to drive successful project executionMaintain accountability for project financial performance, schedule, safety, quality and staffingReview monthly project cost and revenue projections and support company revenue forecastingOversee manpower and equipment planning across projectsMaintain strong relationships with owners, clients, subcontractors, architects and engineersSupport projects from preconstruction through completion and help resolve complex operational and contractual issuesReview and negotiate change orders and identify and mitigate project riskPartner with leadership on business development, proposal and preconstruction effortsDevelop, mentor and lead Project Managers, Superintendents, Project Engineers and emerging leadersSupport recruiting, performance management and succession planning for operational teamsWhat We're Looking ForWe are looking for someone who brings both strong construction knowledge and the leadership ability to operate at a broader business level.The ideal candidate will have:15+ years of progressive construction experience, including significant Project Management and operational leadership responsibilityExperience leading multiple projects and project teamsStrong understanding of project financials, forecasting, cost control, scheduling, change management and riskProven ability to lead and develop Project Managers, Superintendents and project staffExperience developing and maintaining relationships with owners and clientsExperience supporting business development and preconstruction effortsStrong negotiation, communication and problem-solving skillsWorking knowledge of construction technology including HCSS, Primavera, Bluebeam and Microsoft OfficeBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be consideredWe are an equal opportunity employer: We do not discriminate based on race, color, national origin, religion, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, age, genetic information, marital status, military status, membership or activity in a local human rights commission, or status with regard to public assistance, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law. #LI-ER1
