Job Description The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence‑based practice and coordination of care with other health team members. Plan: Uses assessment information and critical thinking skills to develop individualized plan of care, seeks patient, family, team, and physician involvement, and plans support needs including education, referrals, and follow‑up. Implement: Directs the interdisciplinary care team through delegation, coordination, and collaboration; provides or delegates care consistent with the plan of care; demonstrates prioritization and resource management. Evaluate: Evaluates patient response to interventions, reviews achievement of goals, revises plan of care as indicated, and reassesses changes as appropriate. Professionalism: Promotes nursing profession, participates in development of others, integrates legal and ethical standards, complies with regulatory standards, practices within scope of licensure, provides accurate & timely documentation, and understands legal implications of care delivery. Skills Patient Care Delivery Nursing Fundamentals Interdisciplinary Teams Documentation Professional Etiquette Accountability Patient Care Coordination Communication Patient Evaluation Critical Thinking Minimum Qualifications Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice; valid compact licenses must be transferred within 60 days of employment start. RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four (4) years of hire date. Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers. Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution, verified by employer. BSN is required as of the last job description update on 4/27/2025; prior hires reviewed under previous requirements. Physical Requirements The position requires the ability to see and read information, interact verbally and hear spoken information, manipulate equipment with manual dexterity, lift and transfer patients, push/pull gurneys, stand for extended periods, and drive a vehicle as necessary. Location Intermountain Health St. Vincent Regional Hospital, Billings, Montana. Compensation 36 scheduled weekly hours. Hourly range: $38.37 – $56.17, depending on experience.
