This role is ideal for someone who wants full ownership of projects—from initial client engagement through design and construction administration—while also helping shape the future growth of a smaller, high‑impact office. What You'll Actually Do: Lead structural engineering projects from concept through construction administration Serve as the primary client point of contact, managing relationships and ensuring project success Perform and oversee structural design including wood, steel, concrete, and masonry systems Delegate and review work from junior engineers (EITs), including calculations and drawing production Conduct site visits, write technical reports, and support construction‑phase problem solving Contribute to business development efforts, including attending industry events and building client relationships Mentor and train junior staff, helping elevate team performance and technical quality Balance hands‑on design work with project management responsibilities to ensure efficient delivery To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Need: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Structural emphasis preferred; Master’s a plus) 6–8+ years of structural engineering experience with some project management responsibility Strong experience in building design, with wood design experience highly preferred Experience with structural analysis software (RAM, RISA, STAAD, or similar) Strong communication skills—both client‑facing and internal team leadership Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities independently Interest in mentoring junior engineers and contributing to office growth Where and How Much: Target Compensation: $90‑100k base + performance‑based bonus 100% in‑office in Kalispell, MT with flexibility Employer‑paid health insurance 401(k) with match Cell phone reimbursement Health/wellness stipend #J-18808-Ljbffr J2T Recruiting
