Senior Accountant

Overview Senior Accountant — Wichita, KS One of Vaco’s global supply chain clients is looking to onboard either Senior Staff or Senior Accountant to support one of its regions in Kansas. This role will entail traditional full cycle accounting but also be involved in managing multiple projects and touch a lot of different areas of accounting (previous public accounting/audit experience highly-preferred – translates well). Vaco has placed and met with most of the folks on the accounting team and we’ve received great feedback on culture (very outgoing group) as well as growth opportunities (like to promote internally, move folks over to finance). Compensation: $80-90K Key Responsibilities Involved in the full end-to-end accounting cycle for North American entities, including general ledger entries and analysis, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and intercompany transactions Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP Support month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and variance analysis Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations, including bank and payroll-related reconciliations, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner Review and reconcile payroll transactions in partnership with HR and payroll providers, including oversight of multi-state payroll tax activity Support preparation and review of required state payroll tax filings and annual state reporting Ensure compliance with internal controls, corporate accounting policies, and local statutory requirements Collaborate with internal stakeholders and shared service centers across multiple regions and time zones Assist with internal and external audits, including preparation of supporting documentation Support group reporting, consolidation activities, and ad hoc financial analyses Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives across accounting processes, systems, and controls Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as needed Qualifications and Experience CPA designation preferred 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a multi-entity or multinational environment Strong, hands-on knowledge of the full accounting cycle Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP #J-18808-Ljbffr Vaco Recruiter Services
