Laboratory and Medical Director, Anatomic Pathologist (Part-Time

Guardant Health seeks a part-time anatomic pathologist to serve as Laboratory and Medical Director for its oncology division. The role involves histopathology oversight, quality assurance, clinical trial support, and digital pathology advancement within a precision oncology company.

Responsibilities

Review histology slides for tumor content estimation, diagnosis correlation, and immunohistochemical interpretation
Oversee laboratory quality management system compliance and manage adverse outcomes and non-conformities
Provide continuing education to laboratory technical staff and ensure staff competency assessments
Review and approve laboratory documentation including policies, validation plans, and quality audits
Advise referring physicians on laboratory findings significance and ensure appropriate test result reporting

Requirements

M.D. or D.O. licensed in California and state of residence
Current certification by American Board of Pathology in Anatomic Pathology
Training and demonstrated expertise in histopathology within previous six years
Experience signing out immunohistochemistry cases, particularly PD-L1
Qualification or ability to obtain New York State licensure in oncology and histopathology (preferred)
