Material Handler

Description POSITION SUMMARY This position performs a variety of duties to receive and ship materials for production and to supply areas with a continual supply of materials. Maintain accurate inventories of products, mainly Coil receiving and staging. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Use hand trucks, forklifts, hoists and other material handling equipment to receive, store and transport material. Segregate rejected materials and follow established procedures for disposition of such materials. Receive raw materials (Coils). Assist in unloading trucks (Coils). Check packing lists, BOL (Bill of landing) for accuracy. Weigh material as required to ensure receipt of correct material. Assign proper storage location and transport raw materials to assigned location. Record location on packing slip for input into computer systems. Stack materials ensuring segregation of type, weight, and size. Ensure proper and safe storage of material. Maintain accurate inventory of raw material. Use a forklift or hand trucks within the finished goods warehouse; and, internal and external location, as necessary. Assist in the packaging and palletizing of finished goods. Follow all safety rules and regulations. Ensure proper housekeeping of work areas. Adhere to all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements and follow all safety processes and protocols. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties as assigned .EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED High School Diploma or equivalent; minimum 1 year of manufacturing work environment preferably Microsoft Office experience preferred (Job requires basic use of Excel) Team player, dedicated to overall company performance and the ability to get along with others Self-motivated with enthusiasm and drive; able to work independently as needed Reliable attendance on-site required Ability to work various shifts if needed, to support a 24/7 operation Must be at least 18 years or older Requirements PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Regularly required to walk, stand, stoop, kneel and crouch Occasionally required to sit. Close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus is required Regularly required to work near moving mechanical parts and be exposed to fumes and airborne particles Regularly exposed to extreme noise from operating equipment, experiencing some vibration Ability to occasionally lift 35lbs. Ability to communicate and listen Ability to reach to use tools and equipment Ability to manipulate and feel small parts for inspection Ability to inspect small parts visually and through use of magnifying equipment and to perceive depth to set up equipment #J-18808-Ljbffr
