About the Role

Join our hands-on manufacturing team in Avon, CT as a Converting & Embossing Machine Technician. You’ll be the go-to operator responsible for setting up, running, and fine-tuning roll-to-roll equipment to keep production moving safely, smoothly, and on spec.

• Pay: $22–$27 per hour
• Initial Training: All new hires train on 1st shift (6:00 AM–2:00 PM) for 1–3 months

• 2nd Shift: Operator opening (base pay up to $24, plus $2 shift differential)
• 3rd Shift: Operator opening (base pay up to $24, plus $3 shift differential)
• Rotating 12-Hour (1st or 3rd): 6:00 AM–6:00 PM / 6:00 PM–6:00 AM

You arrive for your shift, review the work order, and set up your line. You dial in equipment settings, load materials, and run samples to confirm dimensions and finish. Throughout the run, you keep a keen eye on appearance and measurements, make smart adjustments for quality, and log results. If a minor issue pops up, you troubleshoot quickly—safely—so production stays on pace. Before wrap-up, you complete documentation, clean the area, and hand off any maintenance notes.

• Set up, operate, and continuously monitor production machinery.
• Perform changeovers; fine-tune speeds, tensions, temperatures, and other settings.
• Verify quality: dimensions, appearance, and overall product conformity.
• Diagnose and resolve basic mechanical or production interruptions.
• Load raw materials and remove finished goods safely and efficiently.
• Use hand tools and basic gauges/measuring instruments.
• Carry out routine cleaning and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Follow work orders, specs, safety rules, and standard procedures.
• Complete production and quality records accurately.
• Keep the work area clean, orderly, and audit-ready.
• Escalate equipment or quality concerns to maintenance and supervision.

• Prior manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment.
• Comfort using machinery, hand tools, and measuring devices.
• Ability to read and follow written procedures and production specifications.
• Solid basic math and measurement skills.
• Strong attention to detail and quality mindset.
• Stamina to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
• Capability to lift/move materials as needed.
• Dependable attendance and commitment to your assigned shift.

Experience with film, plastics, printing, slitting, laminating, coating, embossing, or other roll-to-roll/converting equipment is a plus. Mechanical or technical training is also preferred.

Hands-on manufacturing role with paid training on first shift before transitioning to your assigned schedule.
