AI Product Owner

AI Product Owner Locations: Houston, TX; Atlanta, GA; or New York City, NY. Job Type: 6+ month contract, extensions likely. Openings: 4. We are seeking multiple AI Product Owners to support enterprise AI initiatives across functional business domains, including HR Operations, Finance, IT Service Management, and Sales Operations. This role is ideal for a hands-on, business-facing Product Owner who can partner with stakeholders, define business value, prioritize work, and help deliver custom AI solutions that improve operational efficiency and business outcomes. This is not a pure technical development role and not a traditional Business Analyst-only role. The ideal candidate has experience owning product outcomes, managing a backlog, translating business needs into clear requirements, and working closely with technical teams to deliver practical AI-enabled solutions. The environment is fast-moving and may not have fully mature Agile processes in place. Candidates should be comfortable working through ambiguity, shifting priorities, and reactive business needs while bringing practical structure and clarity to the delivery process. Responsibilities Own delivery outcomes for AI-enabled products or solutions within a business domain. Partner with stakeholders in HR Operations, Finance, IT Service Management, Sales Operations, or related areas. Identify opportunities where AI, automation, analytics, or workflow intelligence can improve business processes. Translate business needs into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, MVP scope, and execution-ready requirements. Prioritize backlog items based on business value, operational impact, urgency, feasibility, and adoption. Balance new development, enhancements, production support, and maintenance needs. Work closely with technical teams, data teams, AI teams, and business stakeholders to support delivery. Manage stakeholder expectations, communicate progress, gather feedback, and align competing priorities. Monitor adoption, performance, and business impact after solutions are deployed. Bring structure to ambiguous or changing environments without being overly rigid. Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or closely related product-focused role. Experience owning a product, backlog, roadmap, solution area, or product portfolio. Experience prioritizing work based on business value and operational impact. Ability to translate business needs into clear technical requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. Experience working with Agile teams, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, demos, and delivery execution. Experience in at least one business domain such as HR Operations, Finance, IT Service Management, or Sales Operations. Familiarity with AI, GenAI, machine learning, automation, analytics, or data-driven business solutions. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment where priorities may shift. Preferred Qualifications Experience delivering custom AI, GenAI, ML, chatbot, intelligent automation, or analytics solutions. Experience with ServiceNow, Salesforce, Workday, SAP, Oracle, Power BI, Snowflake, Databricks, Jira, Azure DevOps, or Confluence. Experience working in organizations undergoing Agile, digital, AI, or product transformation. Experience defining success metrics such as adoption, cycle-time reduction, cost savings, accuracy improvement, productivity gains, ticket reduction, or process efficiency. Experience working in complex, cross-functional, matrixed environments. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a practical Product Owner who can bring clarity to ambiguity, partner with business stakeholders, and help technical teams deliver AI solutions that solve real operational problems.
