Database Engineer - Hybrid

Database EngineerGenesis10 is currently seeking a Database Engineer for a hybrid position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC. This is a contract to hire opportunity.This role involves the design, development, and review of all database changes for our client. As a Database Engineer, you will apply industry-accepted design and development practices to perform all database-related changes, such as DB design, normalization, and SQL/PL-SQL programming, using an Agile methodology. This position requires being onsite a minimum of 3 days per week.Responsibilities:Design, develop, and review all database changesApply industry-accepted design and development practices for database changesPerform DB design, normalization, and SQL/PL-SQL developmentRequirements:5 years of experience as a Database Engineer or similar roleExperience with Oracle SQL and PL/SQLExperience with MS SQL ServerExpert-level proficiency in the latest Oracle Database versionProficiency in TOAD and similar toolsExperience in OEMProven experience in Database Design and Data modeling (ER Diagram and Normalization)Strong understanding of Oracle architecture, memory structure, and background processesHands-on experience in performance tuning, including query optimization, indexing strategies, and use of AWR, ASH, and Explain planStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and leadership capabilitiesDesired skills:Previous experience working in the financial domainKnowledge of shell scripting or Python for automating database tasksFamiliarity with DevOps practices and tools like Jenkins, GIT, and DaticalExposure to MongoDBKnowledge of data security, encryption, and compliance standardsPay range: $55.06 - $63.06 per hourOnly candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
