Senior Accountant - Real Estate

A fast-growing property management platform with a national portfolio is seeking a Senior Accountant to own corporate accounting operations for a subset of its member companies. This is a hands‑on role with real ownership — ideal for someone who thrives in a multi-entity environment, enjoys building and improving processes, and wants visibility into a scaling organization. What You'll Do: Own the full monthly close process for assigned entities including journal entries, accruals, deferrals, and prepaid amortizations Upload, maintain, and reconcile general ledger detail including revenue, payroll, and expenses Oversee and review daily/weekly cash application and bank reconciliations performed by an offshore bookkeeper Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations including prepaids, accruals, credit cards, and intercompany accounts Conduct weekly review of 13-week cash flow forecasts and A/P invoice coding with member company controllers Produce monthly financial statements including variance analyses and supporting schedules Maintain fixed asset, accrual, prepaid, and intercompany schedules Support KPI and dashboard development Prepare audit‑ready documentation Manage, train, and QA one offshore bookkeeper Identify automation and efficiency opportunities across the accounting function Why This Role Stands Out: Real ownership across multiple entities, not a support role Direct interaction with high‑performing operators and leadership Ground‑floor opportunity with a rapidly scaling platform Hybrid flexibility in Chicago with strong upward mobility Collaborative culture that values process builders and problem solvers #J-18808-Ljbffr Buckingham Search
