ASHP PGY-2 Oncology Infusion Pharmacist BCOP
Join a dynamic healthcare team as an Oncology Infusion Pharmacist, providing expert clinical pharmacy services to oncology patients in a growing regional medical center located in the Midwest. This role involves planning, organizing, and supervising clinical activities related to oncology patient care, ensuring adherence to professional standards and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering specialized clinical pharmacy services tailored to oncology patients.
- Leading the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of oncology clinical pharmacy programs.
- Reviewing, preparing, and monitoring medication regimens for oncology patients, ensuring safety and efficacy.
- Collaborating with medical staff to identify and resolve medication-related issues, promoting safe and cost-effective therapies.
- Providing clinical consultation and therapeutic recommendations to healthcare practitioners.
- Monitoring drug therapies for contraindications, interactions, allergies, and appropriate dosing.
- Educating staff and patients on oncology pharmaceutical care and drug therapies.
- Participating in oncology-related clinical projects and quality improvement initiatives.
- Documenting clinical activities and interventions thoroughly and accurately.
- Maintaining compliance with federal and state pharmacy laws and regulations.
- Supporting pharmacy personnel through professional guidance and education.
- Engaging in clinical patient care meetings and rounds as needed.
- Promoting respectful, culturally sensitive patient advocacy and communication.
Education: Graduation from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy and licensure as a registered pharmacist in the relevant state.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years hospital-based clinical pharmacy experience is required.
Licenses and Certifications: Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY-2 oncology pharmacy residency program is highly preferred. Board of Pharmacy Specialties certification in oncology (BCOP) is also highly desired.
Work Schedule: Full-time, first shift, 40 hours per week.
$53 - $87.5 per hour
