Key Responsibilities

Your role is multifaceted, focusing on four core pillars of independence:

1. Community Participation

 Navigation: Assist individuals in safely getting around their local community.

 Networking: Help build informal support systems and social networks.

Skill Building: Teach interpersonal communication skills and help individuals

utilize community resources (libraries, parks, community centers).

Transportation: Provide instruction and support to help individuals meet their

transportation needs.

2. Health, Safety, & Wellness

Coordination: Collaborate with individuals to schedule and attend healthcare

appointments.

Self-Care: Provide supervision, training, or direct instruction to help individuals

complete personal self-care tasks.

Goal Setting: Actively support the person in reaching their personal health and

wellness milestones.

3. Household Management Homemaker Services

Maintenance: Provide guidance and supervision for household care, chores,

and general maintenance.

Nutrition: Assist with healthy meal planning, grocery shopping, and cooking.

Financial Literacy: Offer support with personal needs, purchasing, and budgeting

for the household.

Safety: Ensure the individual has the knowledge and skills to maintain a safe

home environment.

4. Adaptive Skills

Work 1-on-1 to develop unique strategies that help the individual overcome

barriers to independence, focusing on their specific strengths and needs.
