Development Technician

Support the New Product Development team in system design and lay-up, fabrication, materials identification, and process creation.

Organize and maintain work environment for various projects within NPD area; Create/fabricate work product in support of new product development efforts; Uses chemicals, adhesives, solvents, lubricants, epoxies, paints, and inks, as required, with the Personal Protective Equipment required by the organization. Coordinate materials handling activities with pertinent suppliers and warehouse personnel; Attend relevant internal and external technical meetings; Supply data for new technology briefings for internal and (when applicable) external presentations; and Other duties and areas may be assigned to meet business needs.

Experience in engineering and/or manufacturing environment required; Knowledge of ballistic materials; Excellent organizational, technical and communication skills Must be eligible for forklift certification within 30 days of position appointment.

Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Ability to maintain reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards. Compliance with all personnel policies. This position requires use of and access to information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Accordingly, all Development Technicians must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Temporary Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee. This position also requires that the employee be eligible for a government security clearance.

Regularly required to stand or sit, and move about the facility. Employee may occasionally lift or move up to 35 lbs. Work usually performed in an office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Occasional work performed in production setting.

High School Diploma; Work experience (3-5 years preferable) in a ballistic protection, U.S. Government Contracting or manufacturing environment.
