Position Overview

Our client is seeking an energetic, personable, and self-driven Outside Sales Representative to service existing customers and expand its customer base throughout the Cincinnati territory. The company provides refrigeration gaskets and specialized services to restaurants and other commercial kitchen operators.

This position combines outside sales, account management, new-business development, and hands-on installation work. The representative will conduct quarterly inspections of existing customer locations to identify service needs and generate new orders. In many cases, the representative will also perform the labor required to fulfill those orders.

The ideal candidate enjoys engaging with customers, building relationships, identifying sales opportunities, and working independently. Candidates from a variety of backgrounds, including retail sales, mobile phone sales, technical schools, vocational training, and B2B sales, are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Service existing customers through quarterly inspections of commercial kitchens and restaurant facilities.

• Identify customer needs and generate additional orders through inspections and ongoing relationship management.

• Prospect and qualify new business opportunities within the assigned territory.

• Generate leads through cold calling, email outreach, networking, referrals, and in-person customer visits.

• Conduct sales presentations and build relationships with restaurant owners, managers, and other key decision-makers.

• Develop and manage a pipeline of prospective customers and new business opportunities.

• Build and maintain a portfolio of approximately 100–150 commercial kitchen accounts.

• Install refrigeration gaskets and other products in commercial kitchens, primarily restaurants.

• Perform hands-on installation work and use basic hand tools as needed.

• Collaborate with the franchise owner and internal team to transition completed sales and service orders to operations.

• Maintain accurate customer records, sales activities, and pipeline information using CRM software.

• Achieve assigned sales targets and contribute to consistent revenue growth.

• Manage daily activities, customer visits, and territory coverage independently.

• Provide responsive customer service and maintain long-term customer relationships.

Qualifications

• Sales experience in B2B sales, business development, account management, retail sales, or a related customer-facing role is preferred.

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

• Personable, charismatic, and energetic approach to customer engagement.

• Self-motivated, results-driven, and comfortable initiating conversations with prospective customers.

• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and take ownership of a sales territory.

• Willingness and basic aptitude to perform hands-on installation work.

• Basic handyman skills or mechanical aptitude.

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

• CRM experience is preferred but not required.

• Familiarity with service-based businesses is a plus but not required.

• Refrigeration, commercial kitchen, or technical training is beneficial but not mandatory.

• High school graduates, recent college graduates, and candidates with vocational or technical training are encouraged to apply.

Location and Work Schedule

• Territory: Cincinnati, Ohio, primarily west of Interstate 75, including Mt. Healthy, Fairfield, Hamilton, Price Hill, Cheviot, and White Oak, extending to the Indiana border.

• Work arrangement: Field-based, with local travel to customer locations throughout the assigned territory.

• Typical schedule: Approximately 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with flexibility to accommodate customer schedules.

• Office attendance: One office meeting per week.

• Customer visits should be scheduled around restaurant operations, avoiding peak lunch and dinner preparation periods when possible.

• Some administrative tasks may be completed remotely at the end of the workday.

Compensation and Benefits

• Base salary: Approximately $50,000 annually.

• Sales commission: 20% commission on sales under the client's commission structure.

• Installation commission: 10% commission on installation work under the client's commission structure.

• Uncapped earning potential: Commission opportunities are uncapped, subject to the company's compensation plan and applicable sales targets.

• Target total compensation: Approximately $65,000–$70,000.

• Company vehicle and gas card: Provided for local territory travel.

• Benefits: A formal benefits package is not currently offered. A 401(k) plan is under consideration.

Training and Career Growth

• Training and ongoing support will be provided, including brand training.

• Candidates do not need prior refrigeration gasket installation experience if they demonstrate the willingness and aptitude to learn.

• The role offers the opportunity to develop and manage a recurring portfolio of commercial kitchen customers.

• As the customer portfolio grows, the position may gradually transition toward a greater focus on sales and account management, with installation work potentially handled by a dedicated technician.

• The position offers an opportunity to work directly with the franchise owner in a growing business.
