Full-Cycle Bookkeeper - Payroll & Finances for Small Firms

Compensation: Starting at $70,000 (going up based on experience) Schedule: 37.5 hours per week; typically 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM, with flexibility as long as 7.5 hours are worked daily Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support the day-to-day financial operations of a small, fast-paced professional services environment. This role reports directly to the Owner and is responsible for full-cycle bookkeeping, including payroll processing, accounts payable and receivable, and maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a more manual setting, can pivot priorities as needed, and has experience managing accounting functions independently. Key Responsibilities: Process full-cycle payroll using QuickBooks for approximately 30+ employees while ensuring compliance with applicable tax regulations Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing, vendor payments, collections, and reconciliations Perform general ledger maintenance, including bank and credit card reconciliations Maintain organized and accurate financial records in compliance with industry standards Support month-end and ad hoc financial reporting as needed Assist with special projects and additional accounting duties as assigned Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred but not required 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience; prior experience in a legal or small professional services environment is preferred Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) Demonstrated experience with full-cycle bookkeeping, including payroll, AP, AR, and reconciliations Comfortable working in a less automated, detail-heavy environment with manual processes Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with leadership and staff Preferred Experience: Full-cycle payroll processing in QuickBooks for small to mid-sized teams Experience handling accounting functions in smaller or less automated environments Exposure to legal or professional services accounting practices Does this description meet your preferences and qualifications?
