Educational Sign Language InterpreterSchool Location: Clare-Gladwin Area SchoolReports To: Director of Special EducationWork Schedule: Full-time; Five (5) days per week as per the School schedule and calendar.Wages: According to the Terms of the Master Agreement for MEA Starting Pay: $23.04 per hour, or higher - based on actual years of experienceStarting Date: As soon as possibleJob Summary: The Educational Sign Language Interpreter works within local districts through Clare-Gladwin RESD under the direction of the Teacher Consultant for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. This position will also assist the teacher(s) with other teaching/learning activities and work with the teacher(s) as a member of an instructional team.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalency required; two-year college preferred.Valid BEI 2 or EIPA 4.0 (or higher) certification acceptable in the State of Michigan or National Certification.Experience with individuals with disabilities preferred.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to understand and work with children of all ages.Essential Duties:Interpret between spoken and sign language in classroom and school settings.Support instruction with individuals and small groups.Assist with implementation of lesson plans.Supervise students as needed.Maintain confidentiality and a safe learning environment.Application Deadline: Open Until Filled Clare-Gladwin RESD
