Experienced Nanny/Caregiver for Nonverbal Autistic Child

Job Type: Full time
Schedule: Mon-Fri 2:30 PM-8:00 PM
Location: Cape Coral, FL
Pay: $23-35.00 per hour, based on experience

About the Position

We are looking for a caring, patient, dependable, and experienced nanny/caregiver to provide one-on-one care for a wonderful child who is nonverbal and autistic . You will be a second pair of hands to a stay-at-home parent.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with autism or other developmental differences and understand the importance of patience, consistency, communication, and creating a safe and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, one-on-one care and supervision
• Keep the child safe and engaged throughout the day
• Assist with daily routines and activities
• Help encourage communication and independence
• Participate in age-appropriate play and activities
• Follow established routines and instructions from the parents
• Assist with meals and snacks as needed
• Assist with personal care and hygiene as appropriate
• Provide transportation to activities or appointments if required
• Maintain a calm, patient, and positive environment
• Communicate regularly with parents about the child's day, activities, and any concerns

Qualifications

• Previous experience caring for children with autism is strongly preferred
• Experience with nonverbal children is a major plus
• Patient, compassionate, and dependable personality
• Comfortable following established routines and care instructions
• Able to remain calm and patient during challenging moments
• Strong communication skills with parents and caregivers
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license if transportation is required
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred
• Must be willing to complete a background check and provide references

The Right Candidate

We are looking for someone who is more than just a babysitter. The right person will be kind, trustworthy, attentive, patient, and genuinely interested in helping our child learn, grow, communicate, and enjoy their day.

Experience with ABA therapy, special-needs education, developmental disabilities, speech/communication programs, or other autism-related care is a plus.

We are looking for someone who can become a trusted and consistent part of our child's support system.
