Job Summary
Provides nursing care to nursing home residents; supervises other LPN's and nurse aides.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Administers medications and treatments as ordered; takes vital signs
- Provides information regarding changes in residents' progress to the RN supervisor
- Stocks and prepares medication cart for rounds
- Charts residents' progress, ailment, medication, symptoms, incidents and observations
- Schedules and provides treatments as recommended by physician and at a time convenient for the resident
Qualifications and Skills
Practical nursing license in good standing in the state of Mississippi; prefer experience in long-term care nursing with comprehensive knowledge of nursing techniques and their relation to medical practices and skills and their application, with thorough knowledge of principles and practices of long-term care.
