About the Position

Description: This position involves providing high-quality nursing care in a mixed acuity unit. The nurse will care for patients with various medical conditions, including sepsis, drug or alcohol withdrawal, and post-operative complications. The nurse will be required to manage patients on non-titratable infusions and titrate medications, including sedation and vasopressors. Ratios for patient care depend on the acuity of the patients, with ICU ratios being 1:2, PCU ratios 1:4, and MST ratios 1:5-6. The nurse will monitor cardiac rhythms and administer medications as prescribed. This role requires floating to designated areas based on patient care needs. Weekend and holiday rotations are part of the scheduling requirements. The nurse will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure excellent patient outcomes. Nurse aids will assist with patient care, but if not available, the RN will manage a smaller patient load. This position requires strong critical thinking and clinical skills to provide effective care to patients in complex medical situations. Candidates must pass a dysrhythmia exam within two attempts before starting the position. All applicants must adhere to our radius rule regarding previous employment affiliations.
