Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The WISe Program Manager provides regional leadership and oversight for Akin’s Wraparound with Intensive Services program, working in close partnership with the WISe Director and program leadership across the organization. You are accountable for the quality, fidelity, and operational integrity of WISe services across your region — ensuring that every team delivers high-fidelity, trauma-informed, culturally responsive wraparound care consistent with Akin’s mission, vision, and values.
This role spans people leadership, regional quality improvement, referral management, community representation, and staff development. You will directly supervise WISe direct service staff, providing hands-on leadership to build strong, cohesive teams. You will serve as the primary conduit between state-level direction and regional implementation — translating SOPs, best practices, and program standards into day-to-day practice for your teams.
The WISe Program Manager ensures that services are directed by family voice and choice, individualized, strengths-based, culturally appropriate, inclusive of natural supports, and delivered with unconditional support. This position requires substantial knowledge of state guidelines, WISe programmatic structures and policies, and community resources. This position has access to protected healthcare information (PHI) and confidential identifiable information (CII), both paper and electronic, as required to perform related duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Regional Program Leadership & Operations
- Lead the planning, implementation, coordination, and supervision of WISe program operations across the region
- Ensure high-fidelity Wraparound/WISe services — incorporating Wraparound principles, phases of treatment, and the WISe model — are consistently delivered to children, caregivers, and their family teams
- Oversee day-to-day operational requirements across regional program sites
- Develop and implement regional program goals and objectives in alignment with Akin’s Strategic Plan and the WISe Director’s guidance
- Attend WISe Collaborative meetings with MCOs as a regional representative
Regional Quality Improvement
- Lead regional quality improvement initiatives, identifying trends in service delivery, outcomes, and documentation and translating findings into actionable improvements
- Monitor documentation activities across regional Wraparound teams, ensuring compliance with agency contracts, Akin documentation standards, and Federal, State, and local confidentiality requirements
- Assist with quality improvement measures, outcome measurement, and implementation of program evaluation structures
- Manage all file audits with MCOs for the region in conjunction with the WISe Director
Staff Supervision & Development
- Provide direct supervision — both reflective and administrative — to WISe direct service staff, using strengths-based practices to support professional growth and wellbeing while ensuring accountability, compliance, and unified application of best practices
- Conduct performance evaluations and deliver timely, constructive feedback; manage performance concerns through coaching and corrective action as needed
- Support staff in reaching professional development goals
- Assist with the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of Wraparound staff across the region
- Assist with the development and implementation of onboarding and training curriculum for all WISe staff to ensure readiness as practitioners of the WISe process
- Develop career progression pathways within the regional WISe department
- Foster an inclusive, equitable team culture that values diversity and treats every person with respect regardless of race, color, age, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, marital status, or disability
- Provide supervision and consultation to staff responding to crisis situations
SOP Dissemination & Regional Training
- Serve as the regional implementation lead for SOPs, best practices, and program standards developed at the state/Director level
- Disseminate updated policies, procedures, and practice guidance to regional supervisors and staff in a timely and accessible way
- Design and deliver regional and statewide training to ensure staff understand and consistently apply SOPs in their day-to-day work
- Identify regional training needs and work with the Director to address gaps
Referral Management
- Manage the referral process for the WISe program within the region
- Ensure referral decisions are made in a timely, equitable, and family-centered manner
- Collaborate with DCYF, MCOs, and other system partners to maintain a well-functioning regional referral pipeline
Community Representation & Partnerships
- Represent Akin’s WISe program at regional community meetings and system partner tables, including Community Resource Teams (CRT), the WISe Collaborative, Family Youth Service Provider Round Table (FYSPRT), and the WISe Symposium
- Develop collaborative relationships and maintain strong rapport with children and families, natural supports, community providers, child-serving system partners, and agency leadership
Professional Practice
- Participate in scheduled supervision, team meetings, and administrative and leadership meetings
- Remain current with professional development requirements
- Comply with all Akin policies and procedures
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
- Substantial knowledge of state WISe guidelines, programmatic structures, policies, and community resources
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams with diverse identities and backgrounds, including implementing inclusive practices across recruitment, supervision, and service delivery
- Working knowledge of the principles of accessibility, inclusion, and belonging, with a track record of incorporating these values into decision-making and team development
- Training and/or experience in reflective supervision and consultation, or a strong openness to grow in this area
- Skill in performance management, including delivering constructive feedback, coaching staff through performance concerns, and applying corrective action when needed
- Strong data literacy — ability to read program metrics, identify trends, and translate findings into actionable improvements
- Ability to work independently and as part of a leadership team in a fast-paced, community-based environment
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to represent Akin effectively in community and system partner settings
- Ability to adapt to change, use flexible thinking, and lead teams through ambiguity
