Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required.
1 year of in-specialty experience required.


License:
WV or Compact RN License required. Pending license acceptable.


Certifications:
BLS required.
ACLS preferred.
CPI preferred.


Must-Have:
Telemetry skills.
Cardiac telemetry experience.


Description:
The RN will work in a Post Cardiac Cath Unit.
The patient population includes pre and post-cardiac catheterization patients.
The RN will manage arterial and venous sheath removal post-cath.
The RN will care for patients with new pacemakers, defibrillators, and Watchman devices post-procedure.
Discharges typically occur 24-48 hours post-procedure unless the patient is a CABG consult.
The RN will set patients up for open-heart surgery or transfer them to the appropriate unit.
Some patients may be in observation from the emergency department and will undergo procedures with discharge planned within 36 hours.
Chest tubes or critical drips are not managed in this unit.
The RN will primarily administer Nitroglycerin, Angiomax, Heparin, electrolytes, fluids, and antibiotics as needed.
Patient diagnoses include NSTEMI, STEMI, CHF, atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, bradycardia, tachycardia, heart blocks, SVT, V-Tach, sinus arrhythmia, and AV-paced/defibrillator patients.
Staff-to-patient ratios are 1:5 during days, nights, and weekends.
The RN may float within the scope to meet facility needs.
Blocked schedules are not guaranteed and should be discussed during the interview.
Holiday requests should be limited to one of the three major holidays.
Candidates must have a permanent address greater than 100 miles from the facility to be considered.
References should be provided from managers or charge nurses within the past two years.
Candidates must not have previous probationary actions on their licenses.
Current employees of the organization are not eligible for travel contracts within a specified timeframe after leaving their permanent role.
