Registered Nurse (RN) | Behavioral Health | Acute Unit

Location Avera Behavioral Health Center - Sioux Falls Work Shift Rotating days/evenings/nights/weekends/holidays (United States of America) Pay Range Actual pay rate dependent upon experience. $32.50 - $48.50 Position Highlights Acute Unit is a short‑term inpatient unit with safety and stabilization as the primary focus. 18‑bed unit with patient participation in art, music, and fitness therapy. Opportunity to meet over 60 coworkers in a positive environment. Self‑scheduling program. Sign‑on bonus up to $15,000 for nurses with 3+ years of experience, every 3rd weekend and every other holiday. Student Loan Repayment: $167 extra payment per month, up to $10,000, to help pay down principal balance. What you will do Provide patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions and communicating the nursing care plan. Coordinate with other healthcare providers and provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support. Develop nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, and documenting care objectives. Teach patient, family, and friends about condition, medications, and self‑care skills. Evaluate patient care by measuring health outcomes against standards and re‑evaluating care objectives. Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy patient care environment by adhering to infection‑control policies, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations. Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records. Keep patient‑care equipment operating and maintain supplies; troubleshoot breakdowns and perform preventive maintenance. Maintain competence in nursing capabilities as outlined by leadership. Essential Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) – Board of Nursing license in the state of practice, active at hire. 1–3 years of experience working in a clinical environment. Ability to work the specified hours and perform essential job functions, including visual acuity and effective communication. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
