Investigators in Pediatric Research

Position Description UCSF School of Medicine and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals are recruiting faculty candidates for its Program in Pediatric Research. These positions support investigators across basic, translational, and clinical science. Appointments will be made at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank in the Clinical X or In Residence series, with academic rank commensurate with experience. Selected candidates will join a major academic medical center and established fellowship training program, may have clinical responsibilities at both the San Francisco and Oakland campuses, and will actively contribute to the Department's mission of excellence in research, education, and patient care. Required Qualifications MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent degree Eligibility for a California medical license Board‑certified or board‑eligible in pediatrics and/or a pediatric subspecialty Demonstrated record of high‑impact publications and success in obtaining peer‑reviewed external funding Evidence of independence and productivity in a defined area of pediatric research Commitment to working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment Preferred Qualifications Evidence of effective teaching and mentorship of trainees or junior faculty Strong communication and leadership skills History of, or strong potential for, securing R01 or equivalent funding as Principal Investigator Experience building collaborative research programs across disciplines or institutions Employment Details For positions that are 51% effort or more: The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. Minimum base salary range: $121,900–$344,400. The position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides eligibility for additional compensation. For positions that are 50% effort or less: Salary range is $93,700–$246,000.
