Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiovascular UnitThe Cardiovascular Unit (CVU) is a specialized 30-bed unit providing medical, pre-operative, and post-operative surgical care for admitted patients with medium to high acuity levels. The unit caters to a diverse patient population, ranging from young adults to geriatric patients, focusing on complex cardiovascular conditions.Patient Care ResponsibilitiesAs a member of the Cardiovascular Unit, you will provide high-quality nursing care to patients who may be stable but possess the potential for instability. Common patient diagnoses include:Cardiac conditionsPre/Post cardiac artery bypass surgeryCarotid endarterectomyAcute Myocardial Infarction (MI)Post pacemaker insertionArrhythmia detectionCongestive Heart Failure (CHF)Pneumonia and other related disease processesThe nurse-to-patient ratio shall not exceed 1:4, ensuring that each patient receives personalized and attentive care.QualificationsCurrent California Registered Nurse (RN) licenseCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationCurrent Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certificationExperience with EPIC chartingA minimum of 2 years of Critical Care experienceSuccessful completion of prior travel assignmentsAdditional InformationFlexibility is required, as there may be occasions to float to other units, including Medical/Surgical departments.
