Senior Psychiatrist (Specialist)
Under the general direction of the Chief(s) of Telepsychiatry, the PRN Senior Psychiatrist Specialist will develop and provide educational materials and presentations, participate in a variety of academic activities, and represent psychiatry as an expert in psychopharmacological issues in various committees and settings. The PRN Senior Specialist will also provide psychiatric consultation and review services as a part of the Psychopharmacology Resource Network (PRN). This role includes evaluation, diagnosis, and the provision of treatment guidance and recommendations for incarcerated persons housed within the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
This position is located in the Mental Health Program. The program's mission is to provide ethical, professional, and effective mental health care services for patients within all of California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation's institutions statewide. With a competent, well-trained staff, they are committed to providing optimal care, promoting patients' successful reintegration into society, and reducing recidivism.
