Overview:
We're looking for a Veterinary Assistant to support our veterinarian and veterinary technicians in the daily care of animals, maintaining clinic cleanliness, assisting during exams and procedures, and providing compassionate care to pets and their owners.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarian during examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures.
- Administer vaccines and medications, place catheters, and draw blood.
- Handle, restrain, and comfort animals safely and humanely.
- Prepare and maintain treatment rooms and surgical areas.
- Clean and sterilize instruments, equipment, and cages.
- Monitor animal behavior and report health or temperament changes.
- Maintain accurate patient records and update charts.
- Support front-desk tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing inventory, and communicating with pet owners.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant.
- Knowledge of animal handling, basic healthcare, and safety procedures.
- Physical ability to lift animals and stand for long periods.
- Compassion and patience when working with animals and owners.
