Now Hiring: Diagnostic Technician

Location: 3060 Communications Parkway, Plano, TX

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Diagnostic Technician will collaborate closely with clinic physicians to conduct a variety of essential eye tests, ranging from basic to advanced levels.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The primary duties include, but are not limited to:

• Conducting necessary eye diagnostic tests while possessing a foundational understanding of procedures such as:
  • OCT macula, OCT optic nerves, Lenstar, ORB scan, Optos Fundus photos, EPIC (OPD and glare), IMMERSION, HVF, and any other relevant assessments as required.
• Assisting with incoming calls and emails, including triaging, prescription refills, and inquiries related to patient charts and plans.
• Gaining familiarity with common eye conditions and diseases.
• Maintaining cleanliness and sterilization of examination rooms and equipment, ensuring proper operation of all devices.
• Providing support to Technicians and Scribes as necessary.
• Administering topical ophthalmic medications and understanding basic ocular pharmacology, including medication names and their applications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least 1 year of experience in the ophthalmic field is preferred.
• A High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Some college coursework or an Associate's degree is preferred.
• JCAHPO certification is a plus.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to think quickly and maintain attentiveness.
• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Effective communication with patients, physicians, and staff members.
• Commitment to ongoing education and adherence to the highest ethical standards regarding confidentiality.
• Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) and general computer skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Fluency in a second language is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance.
