We are seeking an additional physician for our Upland location to support continued growth and increasing patient volume. Our physicians are supported by an experienced clinical, administrative, and operational team committed to creating an efficient, collaborative, and patient-centered environment.

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and patient-focused Pain Management Physician (MD/DO) to join our team. We are open to part-time/per diem or full-time candidates; however, consistent availability on Tuesdays and Fridays at our Upland location is required . Candidates interested in additional hours may also have opportunities to provide coverage at our DTLA and Irvine locations.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing a diverse patient population, developing comprehensive treatment plans, and performing interventional pain procedures. This position requires strong clinical judgment, thorough documentation, and a collaborative approach to patient care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct new patient consultations, evaluations, and follow-up visits
• Perform comprehensive physical examinations
• Develop individualized, multimodal treatment plans
• Perform interventional pain procedures, including epidural steroid injections, radiofrequency ablations, joint injections, trigger point injections, and other appropriate procedures
• Order and review imaging
• Make recommendations for physical therapy, chiropractic care, and specialty referrals
• Clearly explain diagnoses, treatment recommendations, risks, and alternatives to patients
• Complete accurate, timely, and thorough documentation in Athenahealth
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, medical assistants, scribes, and administrative staff
• Participate in provider meetings and follow established clinical and operational protocols
• Maintain compliance with all applicable state, federal, licensing, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pain Medicine, Anesthesiology, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Neurology, or another relevant specialty
• Active and unrestricted California medical license
• Active DEA registration
• Experience performing interventional pain procedures preferred
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented practice
• Commitment to compassionate and professional patient care
• Spanish proficiency is highly preferred but not required
• Experience treating personal injury patients is a plus

Schedule

• Open to part-time/per diem or full-time candidates
• Consistent availability on Tuesdays and Fridays in Upland is required
• Additional hours may be available at our DTLA and Irvine locations
• Schedule and location flexibility can be discussed based on the physician’s availability and practice needs

Compensation and Benefits

• $2,000 per day for part-time/per diem coverage
• Full-time employment opportunity available for the right candidate
