Location Statesboro Campus - Statesboro, GA Department Information General Health Services Job Summary The Patient Care Specialist position at Georgia Southern University Health Services supports student health and well-being through care coordination, patient navigation, and clinical and administrative support. Responsibilities Coordinate patient intake activities, appointment scheduling, collection and management of medical records, and referrals to promote timely access to care and continuity of care Assist with insurance verification, prior authorizations, and other administrative processes that facilitate patient care Connect patients with appropriate campus and community resources based on identified needs Support providers and clinical staff by facilitating patient communication and ensuring necessary documentation is available for patient care Document patient interactions and care coordination activities accurately in the electronic health record Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with applicable federal and state regulations and institutional policies Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Bachelor's Degree in a related field Required Experience One (1) year experience working in healthcare and/or community resource navigation Preferred Qualifications Preferred Educational Qualifications Master's degree preferred Preferred Experience Experience using an electronic health records system Experience providing care management services Proposed Salary $19.15 - $20.00 per hour This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
