Commercial Carpenter


Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Commercial Carpenter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures in commercial buildings. This role requires a strong understanding of carpentry techniques, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.


Key Responsibilities:


Ability to measure accurately, calculate angles, carpentry wood working skills
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the scope of work and materials required.
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble materials such as wood, steel, and drywall to construct frameworks, partitions, and other structures.
- Install doors, windows, flooring, trim, cabinetry, and other finish work.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on existing structures, ensuring safety and compliance with building codes.
- Operate hand and power tools, including saws, drills, sanders, and nail guns, with precision and care.
- Erect scaffolding and ladders for work above ground level, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals, including electricians, plumbers, and HVAC technicians, to ensure project completion.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety protocols and procedures.
- Document and report progress, materials used, and any issues encountered during the project.


Qualifications:


-Minimum of 1 year carpentry experience,
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in carpentry or related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a Commercial Carpenter, with a strong background in commercial construction.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
- Excellent knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, and tools.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with effective communication skills.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve construction issues.
- Familiarity with safety standards and procedures in a construction environment.


Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks.
- Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) as needed.
- Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions.


Work Environment:
- Construction sites with exposure to noise, dust, and varying weather conditions.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
