Senior AI Platform Engineer with Agentic AI & MCP - 100% Remote Contract working EST Hours

Overview Senior AI Platform Engineer with Agentic AI & Model Context Protocol (MCP) Location: Preferred local candidates but open to 100% remote working EST HOURS This is a long term contract. Open to W2 and CTC Contractors. This role supports AthenaHealth’s Internal Developer Platform (IDP) by enabling developers and improving the overall development experience and R&D productivity. The focus is on introducing agentic AI capabilities into existing developer workflows in a practical, production-ready way. This is an enablement role, not a product role. Responsibilities Improve unit test coverage Build and maintain MCP servers, particularly in support of Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines Develop and deploy AI agents to clean up code and improve unit test coverage Start with one agent solution and expand once patterns and value are proven Required Skills / Qualifications Agentic AI experience is critical. Candidates who have built agentic AI solutions and can deliver quickly while upskilling the team through real implementation Subject-matter expert in agentic AI MCP familiarity – understanding how to set up and run MCP servers Current Technical Focus Building and maintaining MCP servers, particularly in support of: Jenkins CI/CD pipelines Building AI agents to: Clean up code Improve unit test coverage Compensation Estimated Min Rate : $75.00 Estimated Max Rate : $90.00 What’s In It For You?
