Position: RN - Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (ACE Unit - Acute Care for the Elderly)

Join a dedicated healthcare team providing exceptional care to patients aged 65 and older in a specialized Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) unit. We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team focusing on preserving cognitive and physical function in our elderly patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver holistic care to a patient population of 26 beds, ensuring safety and comfort.
• Monitor telemetry-capable patients with attention to maintaining their baseline health.
• Administer IV therapy, manage blood products, and perform central/peripheral/PICC line care.
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and provide remote telemetry monitoring.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including Geriatric Resource Nurses and various support staff.
• Provide geriatric-focused care aimed at mobility, recovery, and reduction of hospital stay length.

Schedule Details:

• Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30)
• Weekend Requirement: Every Other

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing.
• Active South Carolina or multistate nursing license.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system (1 year required).
• Ability to perform IV starts, blood product administration, and line management.
• Knowledge in dysrhythmia interpretation and telemetry management.

Patient Care Environment:

The ACE unit is designed specifically for elderly patients at higher risk for complications. Focused on patient-centered care, it aims to enhance cognitive and physical wellbeing, thus supporting patients in regaining their pre-admission health status.

Working Conditions:

• Patient Ratios: 1:5
• Additional support provided by interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
