Financial & Deposit Specialist

Hybrid: This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station. The position is a liaison between the Cashier's Office, campus departments, and third-party payment plan providers. The Office of the University Cashier serves as the central repository for most of the university's receipts. Most departments that receive funds accumulate those receipts in their offices and prepare daily cash transmittals through the Departmental Deposit System. The Financial & Deposit Specialist receives and validates these deposits and then compiles them into a single daily deposit to the State Treasurer's account on behalf of the University. The Financial & Deposit Specialist also provides training by email, Teams, Zoom, or phone to departmental staff preparing these deposits. This position also manages the current student payment plans. From setting up the payment plans, handling customer service, and communications. This position shares responsibility for meeting a wide variety of customer service needs. Students and their benefactors visit, phone, and email our office for assistance with various questions and concerns.
