Job Description
The General Production Worker operates powered industrial trucks, including forklifts and clamp trucks, to safely store finished product pallets in designated bay locations within the warehouse. This role ensures products coming from the sortation line meet storage requirements, accurately records inventory using a Radio Frequency (RF) scanning system, and maintains a clean and organized work area. The position also requires the flexibility to perform warehouse duties and relieve other warehouse staff during breaks, lunches, or absences.
Responsibilities
Safely operate forklifts and clamp trucks to move and store finished product pallets into designated bay locations in the warehouse.
Align pallets accurately within assigned storage locations to maintain orderly and efficient warehouse organization.
Ensure product from the sortation line meets all storage requirements and procedures before placement in bay locations.
Use the Radio Frequency (RF) system to enter product information into the inventory control system by scanning barcodes.
Maintain good housekeeping standards in assigned areas, including removing damaged cases, sweeping floors, and straightening pallets.
Assist the stacker in maintaining cleanliness and organization at the sortation line.
Perform the duties of a warehouse worker when required, including relieving warehouse staff for breaks, lunch periods, or covering absences.
Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while operating powered industrial trucks and handling materials.
Perform routine lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of materials as needed to support production and warehouse operations.
Use various hand and electrical tools and equipment as required for production and finishing activities.
Work with finishing machinery, such as gluer equipment, applying mechanical aptitude to support production needs.
Communicate effectively in English, including speaking, reading, and writing, to follow instructions, complete documentation, and use electronic systems.
Essential Skills
At least 3 years of recent experience operating powered industrial trucks, including forklifts.
Ability to operate clamp forklifts and use RF scanners for inventory control and barcode scanning.
Ability to climb in and out of a forklift frequently throughout the work shift, including stepping up into and down out of the cab.
Ability to walk throughout shipping and receiving bays on primarily concrete surfaces.
Ability to perform pushing and pulling activities as part of regular work duties.
Ability to bend repeatedly throughout the work shift while handling materials and pallets.
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, depending on changing job assignments.
Ability to perform awkward and repetitive movements associated with material handling and production tasks.
Ability to perform routine lifting up to 20 lbs and occasional team lifting up to 50 lbs.
Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs, carry up to 50 lbs, push, pull, reach, and handle materials safely.
Near and far visual acuity sufficient for reading labels, barcodes, and operating machinery safely.
Ability to read computer screens and other electronic devices used for inventory and production tracking.
Ability to use various hand and electrical tools and equipment in a production environment.
Ability to speak, read, and write English to follow procedures, complete documentation, and operate systems.
Working knowledge of finishing machinery, including gluer equipment.
Mechanical aptitude to understand and support basic operation of production and finishing equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Comfort working in inside production and warehouse conditions with seasonal temperature extremes, including heat up to approximately 100 degrees in the summer.
Ability to work in areas with humidity and noise from production machinery, including wearing hearing protection in designated finishing areas.
Willingness to follow established safety protocols and personal protective equipment requirements.
Flexibility to work rotating 12-hour shifts and adapt to changing job assignments as needed.
Reliability and attention to detail when handling inventory, scanning barcodes, and maintaining accurate records.
Strong housekeeping habits and commitment to keeping work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.

Work Environment

Hearing protection is required in designated finishing areas. Team members work 12-hour rotating shifts on a 2-on, 2-off, 3-on schedule, with typical hours from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. The environment involves regular standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, and climbing into and out of forklifts. Use of various hand and electrical tools and finishing machinery, such as gluer equipment, is part of daily operations. Steel-toed boots are required starting on the first day of work, and the cost is reimbursed after hire. The facility maintains a smoke-free premises, and employees are expected to adhere to all safety, personal protective equipment, and housekeeping standards to ensure a clean, orderly, and safe workplace.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
