We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Product Manager to lead the development and management of our payment systems, ensuring seamless, secure, and scalable payment solutions for our global user base. Key facts Location: Spain Engagement: Full-time Team: Payments What you’ll do Take ownership of the payment service provider (PSP) abstraction layer and routing engine, ensuring the platform can dynamically adapt to different PSPs based on performance, cost, and reliability considerations. Develop and oversee the payment lifecycle management process, including settlement reconciliation with PSPs, to guarantee accurate payment records and facilitate smooth financial operations. Manage card-specific payment systems, including integrations with PSPs, tokenization processes, PCI SAQ-A compliance, and 3DS2 authentication protocols to ensure secure and compliant card transactions. Build a configurable payment methods layer that allows rapid activation and deactivation of payment options for new markets, supporting the company’s global expansion efforts. Define, monitor, and analyze key payment metrics such as conversion rates, failure rates, and support inquiries, to identify bottlenecks and improve the overall health of the payment funnel. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of each payment method’s features, including whether they are synchronous or asynchronous, refundable or non-refundable, pre-authorization or capture, push or pull, and deposit or withdrawal eligible, to inform routing decisions and contractual negotiations. Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, product, and commercial, as well as external PSPs and partners, to ensure the platform remains method-agnostic while enabling specific behaviors tailored to each payment method. Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to PSP concentration, failure, or reliability issues, including implementing routing failover strategies and settlement discrepancy management to safeguard conversion rates and minimize outages. Communicate the program and product strategy effectively to management and senior executives, providing updates on progress, challenges, and future plans. Lead cross-functional initiatives to enhance payment features, improve user experience, and ensure compliance with evolving regulatory standards across multiple jurisdictions. Support the onboarding of new markets by configuring payment options and ensuring integration with local PSPs and payment methods. Drive continuous improvement by analyzing payment data, customer feedback, and support inquiries to identify opportunities for optimization and innovation. Work closely with legal and compliance teams to ensure all payment processes adhere to regional regulations and standards. Stay informed about emerging trends and technologies in the payments industry to recommend innovative solutions that can give the company a competitive edge. Requirements Minimum of 6 years of experience in Product Management, particularly with platform or infrastructure products used by engineering teams. Deep understanding of payment infrastructure, including experience with PSP integrations, routing, orchestration, and settlement processes. Proven track record of leading or developing a PSP-agnostic payment platform capable of supporting multiple payment methods and markets. Experience in designing and launching configurable, scalable payment products that accommodate diverse regulatory environments and market-specific requirements. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, build business cases, and identify issues affecting payment conversion and user experience. Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating technical and strategic concepts to stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership. Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Familiarity with PCI compliance standards, especially PCI SAQ-A, and experience with card payment systems, tokenization, and 3DS2 authentication. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, external partners, and vendors to achieve shared goals. Experience with data analysis tools and metrics tracking to inform decision-making and optimize payment processes. Nice to have Extensive experience working with card payment systems, including PSP integrations, tokenization, PCI SAQ-A compliance, and 3DS2 authentication protocols. Familiarity with AI product development tools such as Claude Code/CoWork or Codex, which can assist in automating or enhancing product management tasks. Knowledge of international payment regulations and compliance standards across multiple jurisdictions. Experience working in gaming, sports, or entertainment industries, with an understanding of their unique payment challenges and opportunities. Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and industry trends, contributing innovative ideas to improve our payment platform.
