Position Summary:

LEE is looking for a Director, Talent Matching (Full-time, Temporary) to join the Policy & Advocacy Team to support the growth of LEE’s talent matching and partner engagement strategy. The Director will lead the implementation of our talent matching platform and serve as a collaborative, results-oriented leader responsible for expanding the reach and impact of LEE’s platform and its broader network of civic opportunities. The Director will create internal cross-team alignment, all while also driving growth and engagement across member profiles and hiring partners.

The Director will collaborate across teams, including Policy & Advocacy (i.e., career coaches, fellowship leads), Partnerships, Member Engagement, and Member Marketing, in addition to new and existing LEE partners. The outcome of this collaboration will optimize member (user) experiences and drive growth in the number of members and organizations utilizing our talent-matching products and services. By creating clear playbooks and cultivating a streamlined pipeline of hiring partners and fellowship hosts, this role ensures LEE’s talent matching products and services are fully integrated into a connected ecosystem that helps members find their next civic leadership opportunity. The Director will anchor in data and insights to inform areas for improvement, mapping user journeys to build scalable systems that connect members to career, fellowship and leadership opportunities across LEE’s ecosystem.

The ideal candidate brings a proven track record in talent matching, relationship building, and cross-functional matrix management to translate stakeholder interest into measurable marketplace impact. We are seeking a systems thinker skilled at mapping user experiences to integrate digital tools into talent and career pathways.

The Director role reports into the VP, Policy & Advocacy and is a full-time, temporary position with an anticipated end date of 09/30/2027.

Responsibilities:

Talent Matching and Partner Engagement - 45%

• Lead implementation of strategy for LEE’s talent matching platform for LEE members and partners in the civic leadership space

• Develop and manage a coordinated partner engagement strategy for hiring partners, fellowship hosts, and others seeking to engage LEE talent

• Collaborate with fellowship program leads to identify priority host profiles, build cultivation lists, engage in outreach, and strengthen the partner experience

• Codify internal playbook that support consistent engagement across the talent matching platform, fellowships, and other Policy & Advocacy opportunities

• Design and implement training/support for staff and external partners using the talent matching platform

• Lead the recruitment and onboarding of select Hiring Partners and fellowship hosts to engage with LEE’s talent via the talent matching platform, fellowships, and other Policy & Advocacy offerings

Platform Adoption & Member Engagement - 30%

• Develop member-facing resources and guidance that help members strengthen their profiles, identify aligned opportunities, and engage with LEE’s broader talent pathway supports

• Drive and track the volume of member profile completion and optimization within the talent matching platform to improve match quality and increase member visibility for relevant leadership opportunities

• Lead and partner with other teams to design and execute member engagement tactics that communicate the value of the talent matching platform and related Policy & Advocacy career supports

• Support integration of talent matching platform into all Policy & Advocacy workflows so that members experience the platform as part of a broader leadership pathway

Progress Monitoring and Data Analysis - 15%

• Align internal teams around shared talent matching platform goals, user growth targets, and member engagement metrics

• Analyze member, partner, and platform engagement data to identify gaps, strengthen partner experience, and recommend adjustments for future scaling

• Identify key pain points and barriers; analyze platform engagement metrics to provide recommendations for improvements

Special Projects - 10%

• Lead or contribute to team-level, organization-wide, or cross-team special projects as assigned by manager or designee

• Provide short-term coverage of teams and/or projects during a leave, vacancy, or PTO

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or commensurate years of work experience ( If you do not hold a Bachelor’s degree an additional 4 years of relevant experience is required. If you hold an Associate’s degree an additional 2 years of relevant experience is required ).

• 6+ years of relevant professional work experience in talent management and/or member-facing experiences in partnerships, sales, or business development

• Experience driving cross-functional project alignment and managing stakeholder workflows in a highly matrixed organization

• Proven track record of building relationships and translating value propositions across diverse audiences to drive partner onboarding, scale the network, and maximize user value

• Demonstrated experience mapping user journeys and translating member talent and partner hiring needs into clear engagement strategies, platform workflows, and member cultivation opportunities

• Excellent planning, organizational, and project management skills with a focus on managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously

• Ability to identify and interpret digital engagement metrics and analyze trends that inform strategy

• Entrepreneurial and innovative mindset with a strong outcomes orientation

• Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate within a geographically dispersed team

• Strong, demonstrated commitment to LEE’s mission, core values, and theory of change

Preferred Qualifications:

• Understanding of the competencies and experiences needed to advance in policy and advocacy careers

• Professional experience in platform implementation, customer success, or digital onboarding for educational technology or career readiness networks

• Demonstrated experience managing the launch-phase of an early-stage digital marketplace platform or software tool to drive user growth and scalability

Physical Requirements & Work Demands:

• This position is primarily a sedentary role working with colleagues based around the country using remote technologies.

• The person in this position may need to occasionally move about inside the office to liaise with staff or access office equipment.

• Occasional evening and/or weekend work is required.

Benefits and Pay

The position level for this role is Director 2 and the corresponding hourly pay range for this position is $45.14 - $70.44.
