Responsibilities New Construction Oversight : Monitor and inspect shipbuilding processes, review and approve construction procedures and specifications for compliance, conduct progressive inspections during construction phases, and attend sea trials. Existing Vessel Surveys : Perform condition assessments, damage surveys, and compliance inspections on in-service vessels; evaluate structural integrity, machinery performance, and safety systems; prepare detailed technical reports and recommend corrective actions or repairs. Regulatory & Compliance : Ensure adherence to IMO conventions, flag‑state regulations, and classification society standards; liaise with shipowners, operators, and regulatory authorities to resolve compliance issues. Technical Support & Advisory : Provide expert guidance on marine engineering, hull structures, and safety systems; support risk assessments and incident investigations. Qualifications Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field. Strong professional experience in marine surveying, including new construction and operational vessels. Customer‑experience focused mindset. In‑depth knowledge of international maritime regulations and classification society rules. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and reporting skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. Accountability and ownership for delivering customer needs. Self‑management and prioritisation of tasks towards achieving goals. Effective problem‑solving, troubleshooting, and timely decision‑making. Flexibility and eagerness to take initiatives.
