Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Olathe, Kansas.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/12/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 12, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry/PCU RN with critical care experience for a 13-week night shift contract requiring strong critical thinking and independent clinical skills.Details\n \n Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital setting\n 12-hour night shifts, 1900-0730, three shifts per week\n Patient ratios of 3:1 or 4:1 for Open-Heart Day 2/Day 3 patients with pacer wires\n Uses BiPAP, chest tubes, PICC lines, and performs own lab draws\n Functions without a vascular access team, managing own consults and codes\n EMR used is Epic\n Floating required to ICU and all inpatient units including Med/Surg, Med/Tele, Acute/Tele, and ED based on prior experience\n Every other weekend required\n No on-call requirements\n Requirements\n \n Active KS RN or Compact RN license required\n Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)\n Minimum 2 years of recent Critical Care/ICU or Emergency Department experience required\n Strong critical thinking skills required\n Experience with BiPAP, chest tubes, PICC lines, and independent lab draws required\n Comfortable conducting own codes and consults without a vascular access team\n Open-heart Day 2 or Day 3 experience with pacer wires required\n CBC, drug screen, and lab work must be completed within 72 hours of offer acceptance\n Additional Information\n \n Provide critical care-level nursing support within a progressive care setting\n Facility is nicotine-free\n Orientation includes multiple days at KUKC campus and Olathe campus, plus Director of Nursing training and virtual Epic training\n Must work one holiday from each of three holiday groups: Thanksgiving Day or Black Friday, Christmas Eve or Day, and New Year's Eve or Day\n Local and travel candidates accepted at the same bill rate\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-755474.
