In this vital role, you will combine advanced perioperative knowledge with strong critical-thinking abilities to ensure the safe, efficient, and compassionate delivery of surgical care. \n \n \nAs an integral member of the surgical team, you will support patients throughout the intraoperative process, uphold the highest standards of aseptic technique, collaborate seamlessly with surgeons and anesthesia providers, and ensure every detail is executed with precision. This role is ideal for an RN who values teamwork, technical mastery, and making a meaningful impact on patient care every day. \n \n \nResponsibilities \n \n Aseptic Technique & Surgical Support \n \n \n Demonstrate full competency in scrub and surgical routines, including proper scrub, gowning, and gloving techniques for self, surgeons, and assistants. \n Monitor aseptic practices continuously in all assigned roles (scrub, circulator, assistant). \n Anticipate surgeon needs and recognize procedural sequences across all surgical specialties. \n Pass instruments accurately and efficiently, ensuring full readiness for all assigned procedures. \n \n Sterilization & Equipment Management \n \n \n Follow established protocols for autoclaves and Steris units, including performance of required daily A-Tests and biological tests. \n Perform proper care, handling, and assembly of instruments for reprocessing. \n Complete thorough documentation of all flash and Steris cycles according to protocol. \n Maintain accountability for the safe handling, appropriate use, and preservation of department supplies, instruments, and equipment. \n \n Perioperative Nursing Process \n \n \n Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, collecting and communicating all relevant intraoperative data. \n Develop individualized intraoperative care plans based on patient needs and surgical requirements. \n Provide direct patient care to support physical and psychological well-being during surgery. \n Continuously evaluate patient responses and adjust the nursing care plan to achieve optimal outcomes. \n \n Clinical Knowledge & Documentation \n \n \n Demonstrate strong theoretical and practical knowledge of perioperative nursing, understanding both the "how" and "why" of surgical practices. \n Ensure complete, accurate, and timely documentation of all intraoperative nursing care. \n \n Patient Safety & Positioning \n \n \n Apply expertise in proper intraoperative positioning to prevent nerve injury, pressure-related skin breakdown, and other complications. \n Follow universal skin care precautions to promote patient safety and comfort. \n \n Surgical Counts & Preference Management \n \n \n Assist with accurate completion of sponge, sharps, instrument, and miscellaneous item counts per policy. \n Collaborate with Resource RNs and PCCs to maintain up-to-date surgeon preference sheets. \n \n Critical Thinking & Time Management \n \n \n Display effective prioritization, critical-thinking, and time-management skills across all perioperative activities. \n Maintain precision in patient charging, cost-effective supply usage, and transmission of required data for billing accuracy. \n \n Turnover & Efficiency \n \n \n Contribute to efficient room turnover by being readily available and maintaining ongoing communication with the OR Desk, Charge RN, and PCCs. \n Assist with containment of body fluid spills, gross cleanup, and preparation of the operating room between procedures. \n Prioritize case completion and room setup steps to support smooth, timely surgical workflow. \n \n \n \n Qualifications \n \n \n \n Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and commitment to patient-centered care \n Prefer minimum of 1-year recent perioperative experience. \n Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. \n \n \n \n Credentials \n \n \n \n RN - Registered Nurse \n BLS - Basic Life Saving certification \n \n \n \n Education \n \n \n \n Graduate of an accredited nursing school \n \n \n \nEntry\n \n \nUSD $36.20/Hr. \n \n \nMax\n \n \nUSD $59.73/Hr.
