Compliance Officer

A growing financial institution is seeking an experienced BSA / Compliance Officer to oversee and enhance its enterprise compliance framework. This individual will play a critical role in managing regulatory risk, strengthening financial crime prevention initiatives, and partnering with executive leadership to maintain a strong culture of compliance. This is an excellent opportunity for a compliance professional with deep banking experience who enjoys a broad scope of responsibility across BSA/AML, consumer regulatory compliance, risk management, and regulatory oversight . Key Responsibilities: Lead the administration and ongoing enhancement of the institution's BSA/AML compliance program. Oversee AML monitoring, suspicious activity investigations, SAR filings, CTR reporting, and related regulatory requirements. Manage OFAC screening processes, customer identification procedures (CIP), customer due diligence (CDD), enhanced due diligence (EDD), and beneficial ownership requirements. Conduct BSA/AML risk assessments and identify opportunities to strengthen financial crime controls. Stay current on emerging financial crime trends and recommend appropriate risk mitigation strategies. Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management Support the development and maintenance of the organization's Compliance Management System (CMS). Ensure adherence to applicable federal and state banking regulations, including consumer protection requirements. Monitor regulatory developments and assist with implementing policy, procedure, and operational updates. Perform compliance reviews, testing, monitoring activities, and remediation tracking. Manage compliance reporting and support consumer complaint oversight. Leadership & Strategic Partnership Serve as a trusted compliance advisor to senior leadership and internal stakeholders. Prepare compliance updates, reporting materials, and risk assessments for executive leadership and governance committees. Coordinate regulatory examinations, internal audits, and corrective action plans. Develop and deliver compliance training initiatives across the organization. Promote a strong culture of regulatory awareness and accountability. Qualifications: Required: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. 5+ years of banking experience with a focus on BSA/AML, regulatory compliance, financial crimes, or enterprise risk. Strong understanding of BSA, USA PATRIOT Act, AML regulations, OFAC requirements, and consumer banking compliance. Experience with AML monitoring systems, compliance platforms, and banking technology environments. Strong analytical, investigative, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to interpret regulations, manage competing priorities, and operate effectively in a deadline-driven environment. #J-18808-Ljbffr
