CT Technologist Full Time Evenings Sign on Bonus Eligible

Description Full‑time position, 40 hours per week, located at Lake Forest Hospital. Schedule: Monday‑Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM with on‑call and holiday rotation. Responsibilities Maintain accountability for patient safety throughout the imaging process. Produce diagnostic‑quality images using approved protocols and professional standards. Apply professional judgment within approved protocols to optimize image quality and address imaging challenges. Review images prior to exam completion and initiate corrective action when diagnostic adequacy is not met. Administer contrast in accordance with policy, including screening for contraindications and patient monitoring (as applicable). Operate imaging equipment and maintain imaging room readiness. Identify equipment performance issues and initiate follow‑up through established service processes. Coordinate exam flow and prioritize time‑sensitive studies. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the medical record and image archive system, including exam set‑up, image routing, result availability and charging accuracy. Adhere to organizational values, ethical standards, and compliance requirements. Consistently uphold all applicable quality and safety standards within diagnostic imaging, including radiation safety, MRI safety, and infection‑prevention measures. Ensure a positive patient experience throughout care delivery. Support department initiatives to improve relationships, reliability, efficiency, and growth. Assume additional responsibilities aligned with patient care and department needs. Verify orders and confirm protocols; position patients accurately and use ALARA principles during examinations. Establish IV access for contrast administration and related lab draws. Assist the physician in computed tomography procedures, including interventional procedures. Enter data such as type of scan, slice thickness, scan time, and other technical data into the computer. Communicate with patients before and during procedures; monitor safety and comfort. Validate that all required series, images, protocols, and reconstructions are complete and meet established image quality standards. Assure complete study transfer to PACS for radiologist interpretation. Perform CT equipment QA and maintain required logs. Complete clerical tasks such as receiving orders, scheduling patients, and record‑keeping. Maintain and clean work area and equipment; replenish supplies as needed. Qualifications Required: Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist Program. Active American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Computed Tomography (CT) certification. Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) accreditation. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Preferred: At least one year of CT experience. Benefits
