Registered Nurse - ICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized critical care nursing in a 12-bed Surgical Intensive Care Unit, delivering advanced patient management for post-open heart and complex cardiac cases. Ensure high-quality, respectful patient care within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Administer comprehensive post-operative cardiac and critical care to patients recovering from open heart procedures.
• Operate and monitor advanced critical care equipment including Impella pumps, Hemosphere platforms, and CRRT systems.
• Respond promptly and effectively to rapid response calls and code blue situations.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately using Meditech electronic medical records.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and float to other unit specialties such as PCU and medical-surgical units as needed.
• Adhere to hospital policies, maintain certifications, and follow infection control and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

• Hold active ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Demonstrate at least 2 years of cardiac critical care experience.
• Possess proficiency in managing post-open heart patients, including those supported with Impella devices.
• Show ability to perform critical procedures such as intubation, hemodynamic monitoring, and CRRT management.
• Preferred CCRN certification.
