Job Summary and Qualifications

The Certified Lead Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for cleaning, decontaminating, assembling, sterilizing, and storing all reusable surgical instruments for patient care. The Certified Lead Sterile Processing Technician also provides all needed instruments for surgery and outside departments. . In addition, the Certified Lead Sterile Processing Technician assists with ongoing training and/or precepting of new and current employees as directed by the supervisor. The Certified Lead Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for ensuring new processes, equipment and other changes are communicated and/or taught to other Sterile Processing Technicians.
