Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with active PA or Compact RN license, ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications for a 13-week rotating assignment.

Details

• Work in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) of a hospital setting
• Rotating shift assignment open to one RN for Days and one RN for Nights
• Day shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 13-week assignment length
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Floating required within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius as needed
• Must be available to work every other holiday

Requirements

• Active PA or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications only)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, BiPAP/CPAP, and care of ventilated patients
• Experience with CVP monitoring, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and continuous IV sedation/paralytics
• Experience managing CRRT/CVVHD and acute/chronic renal failure patients
• Neurological care experience including EVD, ICP monitoring, hypothermia protocol, and post-neurosurgical management
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and 12-lead EKG acquisition
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and infection prevention/isolation precautions
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Two professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct critical care nursing to ICU patients requiring advanced hemodynamic, respiratory, and neurological monitoring and intervention
• May be paired with a travel partner based on facility need, though matching schedules cannot be guaranteed
• Must reside within a 10-mile radius for potential floating to sister facilities
• Fingerprinting, drug screening, and required labs must be completed within 24-48 hours of signing
• All compliance requirements must be cleared by the Wednesday prior to start
• Approximately 1 hour of pre-start modules required before entering the facility
• Local candidates accepted at the travel rate
• Former permanent employees of the facility are not eligible to return as travelers
• Holiday coverage required on a rotating every-other-holiday basis
