Position: Steward/Dishwasher/Utility Worker Location: Covenant House Texas - 1111 Lovett Blvd, Houston, TX 77006 Department: Food Services Shift: Mornings/Afternoons Schedule: Varies Days Off: Varies Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Steward/Dishwasher/Utility Worker to join our team at Covenant House Texas. The ideal candidate will have a passion for serving youth and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. You will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen and equipment. Key Responsibilities Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils and kitchen equipment. Maintain cleanliness of dish room, floors, trash areas and storage spaces. Assist with basic food prep under supervision. Ensure proper sanitation and chemical usage. Organize and store clean equipment in designated areas. Support receiving and storage of deliveries. Remove trash throughout the shift. Follow all safety and sanitation procedures. Communicate equipment or supply issues to the Chef/Manager. Qualifications Prior stewarding or utility experience preferred but not required. Ability to lift 40 lbs. and stand for extended periods. Strong work ethic, reliability and ability to work as part of a team.
