Summary/ObjectiveIn keeping with our organization’s goals, the Administrator is responsible for the oversight of all day to day functions of the facility. Success in this position is measured by compliance with all federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern nursing facilities. Additionally, success is measured through facility financial performance, patient outcomes, and risk mitigation. This position is to observe, identify, correct, maintain, and develop processes and programs to ensure that the company’s objectives are achieved.Job DutiesPlan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the facility’s programs and activities in accordance with guidelines issued by the governing boardAssist department directors in the development, use, and implementation of departmental policies and procedures and professional standards of practiceEnsure that all employees, residents, visitors, and the general public follow the facility’s established policies and proceduresConduct daily meetings with appropriate staff, engage in regular facility inspections, and discuss survey findings and formulation of plans of action/correction as neededAssist in developing plans of correction for cited deficiencies and ensure such plans incorporate timetables and methods of monitoring so that such deficiencies do not recurReview and check competence of workforce and make necessary adjustments/corrections as requiredAssist in recruitment and selection of competent department directors, supervisors, facility licensed and non-licensed staff, consultants, etc.Counsel/discipline personnel as requested or as may become necessaryConsult with department directors concerning the operation of their departments to assist in eliminating/correcting problem areas, and/or improvement of servicesAssist department directors in the topic selection, planning, conducting, and scheduling of in-service training classes and on-the-job training and orientation programs to assure that current material and programs are continuously providedCreate and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the facilityEnsure that providers are in compliance with facility policies governing credentialing, admissions, medical treatment, visit requirements, plans of care, orders, etc.Report all applicable issues, concerns, or potential concerns to the Medical Director and communicate regularly with the Medical DirectorEnsure that all facility personnel, residents, and visitors follow established safety regulations, including fire protection/prevention, smoking regulations, infection control, etc.Review and investigate accidents/incidents and ensure that risk management reports are effectively created (e.g., falls, injuries, or an unknown source, abuse, etc.)Monitor to determine the effectiveness of the facility’s risk management programEnsure that the facility is maintained in a clean and safe manner for resident comfort and convenience by assuring that necessary equipment and supplies are maintained to perform such duties/servicesReview and interpret monthly financial statements and provide such information to the governing boardParticipate in creating facility budgets as it pertains to census goals, rate management, labor management, and expenses controlEstablish process and procedures that ensure facility achieves the all budgets and goalsIn collaboration with A/R support, ensure collections are timely and in its entirety by developing and implementing collections policies and proceduresReport suspected or known incidents of fraud relative to false billings, filing of false cost reports, receipt/payment of kickbacks etc., and any other illegal activity to the governing board and ensure reporting is made to appropriate agenciesEnsure that the resident rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property, and civil rights, including the right to raise complaints, are well established and maintained at all timesReview resident complaints and grievances, discuss actions with resident and family as appropriate, and make written reports of action takenEnsure that resident funds are maintained and appropriate accounting records are employed by the facility in accordance with current, applicable regulations and lawsPerform other duties as assigned or as needed for the facility to be in compliance with all appliable federal, state, and local regulations and lawsCommunicate and interact effectively with residents, visitors, families, staff, and supervisorsAttend and participate in departmental meetings and in-services as directedReport all resident, staff, or other concerns to the appropriate department headReport all incidents, accidents, unsafe situations, and concerns immediatelyMaintain knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local rules and regulations relating to responsibilitiesEnsure that responsibilities are performed consistent with all applicable federal, state, and local rules and regulations as well as facility policies and proceduresMust possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator in the StateA bachelor’s degree in Public Health Administration or Business Administration or health related degree is preferred2 years’ experience in a supervisor role, healthcare experience preferred,Recent long-term care experience requiredMust be knowledgeable of reimbursement regulations and nursing practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to nursing facility administrationMust possess the ability to make independent decision when circumstances warrant such actionMust be able to read and interpret financial records, reports, and other financial modelsMust effectively communicate policies, procedures, regulations, and reports to personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and government agenciesMust demonstrate leadership, organizational skills, and maintain a positive and professional attitudeStrong utilization knowledge of Point Click
