Position Information Position Title: Open Rank Faculty, Medical Director CMHA Program Position Type: Faculty Department: Office of Graduate Education Full or Part Time: Full Time Pay Grade: Dependent on Rank Position Summary NEOMED is a mission-driven, community-based medical university committed to educating health professionals, advancing discovery, and improving the health of our region. We are seeking a Medical Director of the Certified Mental Health Assistant Program who wants to contribute to meaningful work in a collaborative academic environment. The Medical Director provides clinical perspective to the curriculum of the Certified Mental Health Assistant (CMHA) program. The role assists the Program Director in developing and maintaining curriculum, admission, progression, and graduation standards, coordinating and teaching pre‑clinical classes, and coordinating clinical rotations aimed at achieving and maintaining accreditation through the Higher Learning Commission and producing clinicians who practice the highest standard of evidence‑based medicine. This is a full‑time non‑tenure track appointment. Faculty rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Principal Functional Responsibilities Administrative Responsibilities include but are not limited to: participation in the Program Advisory Committee; assisting with recruiting clinical sites and maintaining contact with all entities involved in student education; advocating to local and regional hospitals and health profession organizations; recruiting and interviewing program faculty and students; monitoring metrics required for accreditation; representing the program at professional and organizational events; and supporting recruiting efforts by the Director of Admissions. Teaching and Service Responsibilities include but are not limited to: instructing students in the classroom and clinical setting; developing and analyzing the didactic and clinical curriculum; ensuring standards of medical knowledge are met; and assessing student performance in classroom and clinical experiences. Active participation in college and university committees will be required, and participation in state and national professional organizations is strongly encouraged. Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school. Successful completion of an accredited program of residency training in Psychiatry. Current unencumbered Ohio license to practice medicine. Board Certified in Psychiatry. Current DEA license. Knowledge and skills to administer the clinical/academic aspects of the program. Minimum 5 years of experience teaching students or residents. Teaching experience in a university‑based undergraduate or graduate medical education program. Experience coordinating the activity of and supervising clinicians. 10 years of clinical experience.
