Clinical/Skills Instructor – CNA, Pharmacy Technician & Medical Billing and Coding

TSC Career Institute is expanding, and we are actively seeking qualified healthcare professionals to join our growing healthcare education team.

Position Summary

The Clinical/Skills Instructor will provide classroom, laboratory, skills, and/or clinical instruction while preparing students for successful entry-level careers in healthcare.

The ideal candidate is an experienced healthcare professional who enjoys teaching, mentoring, coaching, and helping future healthcare professionals develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to succeed.

General Instructor Qualifications

• Current professional certification, license, or credential appropriate to the program being taught.
• Relevant professional experience in the healthcare field.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent field experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of the subject matter and ability to apply industry standards to instruction.
• Previous teaching, precepting, staff-training, or mentoring experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to teach, supervise, and evaluate students in classroom, laboratory, skills, and/or clinical settings.
• Strong communication, organization, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to create and maintain a professional, supportive, and student-centered learning environment.
• Ability to provide constructive feedback, remediation, and academic support.
• Commitment to student success and professional development.

CNA Instructor – Preferred Qualifications

• Current CNA, LVN, RN, or other applicable healthcare credential appropriate to the program and applicable requirements.
• Recent experience providing direct patient care in a healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of basic nursing skills, patient care, infection prevention, vital signs, personal care, mobility, safety, communication, and patient rights.
• Ability to demonstrate and evaluate hands-on CNA skills.
• Previous CNA instruction, clinical instruction, precepting, or staff-training experience is preferred.

Pharmacy Technician Instructor – Preferred Qualifications

• Current Pharmacy Technician certification or equivalent credential appropriate to the program.
• Recent experience working in a pharmacy or medication-related healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of medication safety, pharmacy operations, medication terminology, pharmacy calculations, prescription processing, inventory management, and applicable pharmacy practices.
• Ability to demonstrate and evaluate pharmacy technician skills.
• Previous teaching, precepting, or pharmacy staff-training experience is preferred.

Medical Billing & Coding Instructor – Preferred Qualifications

• Current medical billing, coding, or healthcare-related certification or equivalent credential preferred.
• Recent experience in medical billing, medical coding, healthcare reimbursement, insurance claims, or revenue cycle operations.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, insurance billing, claims processing, documentation, and healthcare reimbursement practices.
• Ability to teach both foundational concepts and practical medical billing and coding applications.
• Previous teaching, training, or mentoring experience is preferred.

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide engaging classroom, laboratory, skills, and/or clinical instruction .
• Teach assigned curriculum and ensure students meet required competencies.
• Demonstrate and evaluate appropriate hands-on skills.
• Evaluate students through exams, assignments, skills check-offs, and clinical evaluations as applicable.
• Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and student progress documentation .
• Provide academic support, coaching, remediation, and constructive feedback.
• Monitor student progress and communicate concerns to administration.
• Create a professional, supportive, and student-centered learning environment.
• Participate in faculty meetings, training, orientations, and school activities.
• Follow institutional policies, applicable regulatory requirements, and healthcare industry standards.

Clinical & Externship Responsibilities

For programs that include clinical or externship experiences, instructors may be responsible for:

• Supervising and evaluating students during clinical and externship experiences.
• Traveling to assigned clinical/externship sites as needed.
• Observing student performance and providing appropriate feedback.
• Communicating with clinical partners regarding student progress.
• Ensuring students follow facility policies, professional standards, infection prevention practices, and patient safety requirements.
• Completing required clinical documentation and evaluations.

Schedule

Day and night classes are available.

Schedules may vary based on program needs and instructor availability.

Full-time, part-time, and adjunct teaching opportunities may be available depending on program needs and instructor qualifications.
