Assistant Professor of Psychology

The Department of Psychology at Knox College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant

Professor position beginning September 1, 2025. We seek a colleague who can offer courses and student research opportunities in either: 1) clinical, counseling, or community psychology or 2) social psychology. A secondary interest or expertise in research methods and statistics would also be a strength.

The position involves an annual six-course teaching load (two each 10-week term) that includes teaching an upper level course in the candidate's area of expertise, supervision of undergraduate research projects, teaching statistics and potentially either Theories of Personality or Introduction to Psychology. In addition, for the clinical position, we would like the candidate to also be able to teach a course in psychopathology and to contribute to our Clinical Psychology immersion term: For social psychology, we are especially interested in candidates able to teach a lower level course in social psychology and potentially a course in evolutionary psychology or organizational behavior.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. is expected at time of appointment; exceptional ABD candidates will be considered
Preferred Qualifications:
  • An interest in teaching research methods and statistics would be a plus.
