Veterinary Assistant - Emergency

VCA Chatoak Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time, experienced Veterinary Assistant to join the team at our AAHA-accredited , full-service hospital in Granada Hills, CA.

Salary: $ 23 - $ 25 / hr. Depending on experience/credentials. Shift differential Friday - Sunday

Schedule: Full-Time, 4 PM to midnight / 5 days a week. Weekends are a must. 2 holiday shifts a year

Location: 17659 Chatsworth St, Granada Hills, CA 91344

• Physical examinations and patient assessment

• Anesthesia monitoring

• Surgical preparation and assisting

• Laboratory work

• Venipuncture, IV catheter placement, IV fluid therapy

• Catheter placement

• Pharmacy

• Patient recovery

• Compassionate care of our hospitalized animals

• All aspects of patient care

• Animal handling and restraint

• IM, IV,SQ injections

• Digital radiography

• Nursing care/hospitalization treatments

• Client communication
